Absorbent sponges

subtitle

Going backwards

Work description and interpretation
These sponges originated during the work on "Reverse Sedimentation", four canvases painted between January and February 2013. Every time I made a new colour in the cup, before spreading it, I soaked it up and took a little bit away with a sponge. The sponge as a symbolic element that soaks up the experience (“soaks up like a sponge”) and the sponge as a small thing that fits in the palm of your hand, allowing you to hold the colour in your hand.
