Maria Morganti. Un diario tira l’altro

Exhibition conceived for spaces of Otto Zoo gallery, Milan, curated by marco Tagliafierro, on view between November 23, 2008 and January 29, 2009.

The exhibition at the Galleria Otto Zoo consisted of the diaries painted over a period of around seven years, the book “One Diary Leads To Another” and the forty paintings I created for all the people who had participated in the project.

In exchange for being close to me and for their contribution, I painted each of these people a painting. It was as though I had devoted one year of my time for them through the stratification of colour.

The evening of the opening was conceived as a convivial opportunity to share and thank those people, during which the forty paintings were donated to the respective contributing authors, leading to a slow and gradual emptying of the wall they had been hanging on.

The work was visible in its entirety only at the beginning of the evening before I started handing out the paintings.
