The work consists of a small piece of paper (the generator) and a large one (the generated), but they don’t necessarily have to be exhibited together. The small one can also remain closed in a drawer as a memory and documentation of an action that happened, while the other one can take its place on the wall.
The “Paper-Diary” and the “Wall Paper-Diary” series ended in 2018, but my desire to perpetuate the artistic gesture on paper did not end with them. In order to continue the series of “Imprints”, since 2019 I have continued to spread colour with my fingers on a small sheet of paper, keeping it with me for a long period of time (around 3-4 months). At first, I considered the small “Paper-Diary” merely as a blueprint to leave marks on the large “Imprint”, but without realising it, the former was transformed into an entity equal to the latter.
Now it is no longer clear what results from one and what results from the other, due to their osmotic relationship of interdependency; a reciprocal influence in which one is connected to the other in a symbiotic form.
