Fragment #3

Work description and interpretation
The fragment I extracted from the “Infinite Painting” with Chiara Sotgia in 2014 has been subdivided into five parts to be analysed and photographed under the microscope. With the help of Lucio Spinozzi I made five jewels out of these five fragments. Each element is different from the others and has taken on an aspect determined by the shape of the fragment itself. It is a jewel that I can take anywhere on my body, wearing it like pendant. Or I can deposit it, fixing it to the wall with a white gold drawing pin (a miniaturisation of the common American drawing pins I normally use to pin my Diary-Papers to the wall). The idea of the jewel mirrors the sense of carefully and delicately keeping the small extract, the essence of the substance-colour. Each fragment is contained in a micro container which can be opened and means that each piece of painting can be held in one’s hand.
