"bowl" and "substitute bowl"

Since the 1990s my palette has condensed into a single small and concave point. The place where I produce my painting substance is a simple ceramic bowl which can only contain one colour at a time.
However, since 2018 when the “Substitute” was created, the space where I paint doubled and so did my palette-bowl.
The first, original bowl, the one which always stays in the studio, is never suspended, the colour never dries up in it, it makes it evolve slowly, keeping it wet and alive. But the second, doubled bowl, lives intermittently, and is only reactivated for short periods of time, whenever the other one is not in use. Whenever it is blocked, it allows the colour to dry up and has to start over anew with a fluctuating and intermittent rhythm.
